What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR):
This type of test is essentially an MOT for your electrical system.
What is involved in an EICR?
The test covers all the hard wiring starting at the distribution board
It incorporates all the wires running to each point of use within an installation
Such as lights, sockets and individual electrical outlets
What are some of the common names given to this test?

What is required by law?
All electrical installations deteriorate over time and can be the cause of many accidents.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report must be generated at frequent intervals (the duration of which varies dependent on the types of installation) to ensure each electrical system is still safe for continued use.
Electrical Inspection Condition Reports come under various legislation requirements such as:
The “Health and Safety At Work Act 1974”
Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
